Terms and Conditions: Visit Maldives Hackathon
1. Event Overview
The Visit Maldives Hackathon (hereinafter "Hackathon") is organized by the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) in partnership with SparkHub. This event aims to foster innovation in sustainable tourism through technology.
2. Eligibility
Participants must be at least 18 years of age. The Hackathon is open to local and international individuals interested in technology, sustainability, and tourism. Entry details are available on the official Hackathon website.
3. Purpose
The Hackathon aims to stimulate creativity and generate impactful, scalable solutions addressing three key themes:
- Enhancing Traveler Experience through Innovative Tech Solutions
- Advancing Technology in Tourism
- AI in Tourism for Sustainability
4. Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
Participants retain ownership of their original work. MMPRC is not responsible for third-party use of participants' work during or after the Hackathon.
5. Grant of Rights
Participants grant MMPRC a perpetual, royalty-free right to use and reproduce entries for any purpose. Participants receive a limited license to use MMPRC's IPR solely for the duration of the Hackathon.
6. Original Work Requirement
All submissions must be original and not infringe on third-party rights. Pre-existing IPR should be documented prior to the event.
7. Independence and Similar Ideas
Participants acknowledge that similar ideas may emerge independently during the Hackathon. MMPRC may be working on similar concepts. Participants agree not to make claims against MMPRC regarding their participation or contributions.
8. Winner Selection
A panel of judges will select winning ideas based on sustainability, feasibility, and alignment with the Hackathon themes. Decisions are final and binding.
9. Prizes
MMPRC will announce prizes before the event. Winners are responsible for any associated taxes and costs.
10. Media Consent
MMPRC may photograph and film the event for public record and promotional purposes. Participants may opt out of media coverage.
11. Code of Conduct
Participants must comply with the provided code of conduct. MMPRC reserves the right to disqualify violators.
12. Liability
MMPRC is not liable for personal or property damage during the event.
13. Dispute Resolution
Disputes will be settled amicably or under the laws of the Republic of Maldives.
